Recycling in Media
Recycling
Films & TV
Wall-e, Wall-e is a Disney film where a small robot is sent to clean up the earth by using recycling techniques and removing
small odds and ends from the rubbish and taking them back to his "house" for personal uses.
In The Walking Dead, the cast are seen at the start of an episode scavenging in houses for cans of food and other usable objects.
This could be classed as recycling because of the repossession of items.
Artists
The artist Clare Graham uses recycled materials to create her artwork, here is the link to Clare's website.
Games
Borderlands 1,2 are games that both use recycling as one of the main influences in the game. There are recycling elements all
over the games which include using scrap materials as weapons, barricades and other items. Borderlands 2 also uses virtual recycling
to bring in elements and textures from the original Borderlands.
Dishonored is a game where recycled materials are used by soldiers and guards to fence off areas of the game that are disease
infested. There is also sheets of metal and scrap ripped from nearby walls (noticable in game) used to make items such as bridges
and ramps.
Illustration
Recycling in illustrations can have multiple meanings, mainly being an image or model created using recycled materials such as
a metal scrap based animal or similar figure.
Animation
There isn't much information on recycling animations, however I did manage to find a short video which demonstrates the basics
of animation with the theme of recycling.
Literature
